3 Shows to Watch Now that X-Men ’97 is Over

    Published on:

With the aftershock and hangover that X-Men ’97 has left us with, fans may have not moved on and are now looking for something to fill the void and gaps of what the show left us with. The excitement and thrill that X-Men ’97 gave us was truly incomparable in the past month or so as we had something to look forward to every week. Now that season1 has come to a close, I have honestly been looking for something to watch to keep the momentum and excitement going as I wait for season 2.

In this article we take a look at three Marvel shows that may hopefully hit the spot, all of which are currently available over at Disney+.

    Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes

    (2 Seasons, 52 Episodes)

The X-Men aren’t the only Marvel team with an astounding animated series that (still) deserves a return. The most popular superhero team from the Marvel universe, the Avengers, graced the world with one of the best Marvel animated shows of all time in 2010.  Just like X-Men ’97, this show does a great job at telling fantastically written stories while incorporating the Marvel universe without feeling forced. Avengers: Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, just like X-Men ’97 has the ability to showcase some cameos as well such as Spider-Man, Wolverine, The Fantastic Four, Winter Soldier, the various people of Asgard and so many more. But each and every appearance makes sense for the story.

In X-Men ’97, we got our fair share of Avenger cameos and therefore if you’re looking for a show that will exclusively talk about this specific Marvel superhero team then this may be a show worthwhile to see.

    Spider-Man: The Animated Series

    (5 Seasons, 65 Episodes)

The most popular show in the Marvel Animated Universe is easilySpider-Man: The Animated Series. This is a series that is beloved by Marvel fans everywhere for its incredible adaption of the Spider-Man mythos. This may be a show that would be great to watch given that Spider-Man does make an appearance in X-Men ’97 which has sparked a major outcry for a revival of the series.

We even see a very interesting scene in X-Men ’97, one that alludes to the ending of this particular show and one that fans have been confused about due to the ending of Spider-Man: The Animated Series. Only time will tell if we’ll get a revival of this show but as we’ve seen lately — there’s truly power within the fandom.

    X-Men: The Animated Series

    (5 Seasons, 65 Episodes)

This seems like a no brainer. If you’re done with X-Men ’97 then a refresher or even starting up the OG series may be the perfect choice. As X-Men ’97 Season 2 may still take some time before airing once again, there would be ample time to rewatch this show that has truly made an impact on us all who watched it then up until this very day. This is the very reason why X-Men ’97 was born — from the overwhelming outcry of the fans and therefore revisiting the OG series where it all began may be what is needed at this time.

These are just a few of the many content that you can consume after seeing X-Men ’97. Binge-watching numerous and endless numbers of live-action and animated from from Marvel and even other properties may hit the spot for now.

Of course, these will all be just a temporary remedy as we truly need all the patience in God’s green earth as Season 2 of X-Men ’97 finally returns — and hopefully that comes sooner than later.
