Now, here’s everything you need to know about the game!

    The Story So Far...

The game of Alpha Clash is set in a world you’d usually see in comics. More akin to “The Boys” than Marvel and D.C. comics, the world of Alpha Clash is populated by super-powered individuals known as “Alphas,” and they mostly abuse their powers to be at the top of the heap by fighting other Alphas and establishing dominance. The reason behind this urge to fight is a phenomenon known as “The Pull,” a phenomenon closely linked with the emergence of these superpowers. In Alpha Clash, the creators of the universe, an ancient race known as The Progenitors, release a wave of energy all across the universe and imbue individuals with powers. Along with these powers is the urge to fight and become the sole survivor of these “Alpha Clashes.” The heralds of the Progenitors, The Harbingers, gather the surviving Alphas and bring them to a gladiatorial world where they must fight for entertainment and survival.

The clashes these Alphas have are destructive and devastating to the area caught in the crossfire. Thus the U.S. military has launched an offensive on these Alphas and created a division known as The Hunters. However, not all Alphas are under the influence of the Pull. An immortal and surviving Alpha from the previous generation named Clarity has come out of the shadows and is helping some Alphas escape the Pull and put a stop to the Alpha Clashes. Their efforts are hampered by the Harbingers themselves and are now being pushed back as more and more Alphas clash.

    How Does It Play?

Now that you’re caught up to speed with the setting, here’s what you need to know to play the game. Don’t hesitate to stop by an LGS near you to learn the game as well!

Alpha Clash is a game played between two players battling head to head in a race to drop the opponent’s life points to 0. You each choose an Alpha to represent and build a deck around them, often focusing on 2 to 3 colors and a faction. Each Alpha has a different playstyle from the other and is often what dictates your deck building. There are currently five colors to choose from: Black, Blue, White, Green, and Red! The colors of the card dictate what kind of resource you need and produce in the game.

The game is pretty straightforward after that. You play allies known as Clashes in order to attack your enemy Alpha (Known as a Contender in the game) and reduce their Life Points to 0. There are other cards that can shift the tempo, like Actions, Accessories, and Clashgrounds.

The resource mechanic of this game is akin to that of Magic: The Gathering and Dragonball TCG. You use the cards in your hands as resource cards by placing them at the bottom of your field upside down and then turning them sideways to produce a color resource based on their colors. You then use these resources to play other cards.

Alpha Clash is a game that requires a lot of forethought and rewards players who know how to sequence and interact with their cards. It’s a fun game with an amazing I.P. on top of it, so don’t hesitate to give it a shot!
