Mobile Legends: Bang Bang is Unavailable in the USA

    Published on:

That’s right, the popular mobile MOBA, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, is now officially unavailable in the United States of America. Following the enactment of a law banning TikTok in the USA, MLBB and several other games have been hit as well.

    What’s Going On?

With the US government cracking down on multiple apps owned by Chinese Internet Tech company, ByteDance Ltd., Mobile Legends: Bang Bang and other apps under ByteDance have been disabled in the US. Alongside TikTok, Marvel Snap, and Land of Empires, MLBB has been unavailable to users since Yesterday, January 19, 2025. With this broader crackdown on various apps and services owned by ByteDance, it’s led to the temporary suspension of MLBB. The concerns primarily revolve around data privacy and the potential misuse of user data, given ByteDance’s ties to China.

Why is MLBB banned alongside TikTok? That’s mainly because Moonton, the developer of MLBB, is owned by ByteDance and thus got hit with the ban. While it’s not currently known how long services will be unavailable, the developers have assured users that they’re working to restore service.

Moonton has responded to the ban by assuring players that their game accounts will not be suspended or deleted. They are actively working on resolving the issues raised by U.S. authorities and are hopeful about bringing MLBB back to the American market in the near future. Despite the current situation, players are encouraged to remain engaged with the game’s official community channels for future updates.

Players across the United States are eager for a swift resolution that will allow them to resume their gaming adventures soon. While this is disheartening, it’s not likely that MLBB is going to remain permanently banned.

Users in the US have been informed that their account data can be downloaded and managed via the Mobile Legends website. Although a lot of users are currently panicked, Moonton has announced that the ban on service is temporary.

    Another One Bytes the Dust

In a recent update, TikTok has begun restoring services after President-elect Donald Trump agreed to work with TikTok service providers. The app is up and running once more but is not available for download on the appstore. Sadly, the same can’t be said for the other services and games under ByteDance. There hasn’t been a recent update as of yet for MLBB users unfortunately.

Players from Marvel Snap and other Nuuverse games are still facing the same issue as MLBB users. It’s not known how long this denial of service is going to last but players are hopeful of its return.
