The Nintendo Switch 2 is shaping up to have one of the strongest day-one lineups in recent memory, and Capcom’s coming in swinging with two major titles: Street Fighter 6 and Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess. Both games hit the platform on June 5, giving players a mix of competitive and strategic action right out of the gate.
Here’s a closer look at what each game brings to the new console.
Street Fighter 6: Fight Anywhere, Literally
Street Fighter 6 isn’t just making the jump to Nintendo’s next-gen handheld—it’s getting some Switch 2-exclusive features that add more ways to play, especially with friends.

If you’ve already played it on other platforms, the core experience stays the same: three main modes—Fighting Ground, World Tour, and Battle Hub—plus the modern control scheme for newcomers and real-time commentary that adds a little esports flair.
But on Switch 2, Street Fighter 6 adds new twists:

- Local Wireless Match lets you fight head-to-head with nearby players, no internet required.
- Local Avatar Match brings your customized World Tour character into local multiplayer, complete with the moves you’ve unlocked.
- Gyro Battle uses Joy-Con motion controls for a more physical twist on traditional fights.
- Calorie Contest is the most unexpected feature here—essentially a fitness mode that tracks your motion inputs and turns them into in-game performance.
Amiibo Support (With a Twist)
Capcom’s also rolling out amiibo support for the game, including new figures for Luke, Jamie, and Kimberly. They unlock in-game content, and you can even save custom outfits and button settings to them.
What’s cool is that older amiibo like Ryu and Ken from Super Smash Bros. are compatible too—and each figure or card comes with extra rewards like wallpapers, photo frames, and BGM.
New Edition Includes Everything So Far
And yes, tabletop mode is supported, so you can throw hands with a friend on a single device using just the Joy-Cons.

If you’re planning to dive in, the Street Fighter 6 Year 1-2 Fighters Edition might be the version to check out. It comes with all characters and stages released through Years 1 and 2—26 fighters in total. But there’s also a standard version launching alongside it for anyone who just wants the base game.
Kunitsu-Gami: Strategy Meets Sword Dancing

Capcom’s other big Nintendo Switch 2 title, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess, brings a different kind of energy. Instead of fast-paced combos, you’re dealing with strategy, timing, and purification mechanics in a supernatural setting.

You play as Soh, defending a shrine maiden named Yoshiro from hordes of cursed creatures. Each stage is built around a day-and-night cycle—you prep during the day, then fend off waves of enemies when the sun sets. Along the way, you rescue villagers who’ll help build up your defenses.

On Switch 2, Kunitsu-Gami comes with some system-specific upgrades:
- You can play using gyro controls or even a mouse-style pointer.
- The game runs across handheld, docked, and tabletop modes without losing any features.
- It includes a new “Otherworldly Venture” mode—free extra content that adds another layer of challenge.
Like Street Fighter 6, it’ll be a digital release, and the Nintendo Switch 2 version launches day one with all other platforms.
