An Exclusive Look At The Team Philippines Dragon Shield Sleeves

    Published on:

The origin of the Team Philippines Dragon Shield sleeves can be traced back to its predecessor – the jacket. At the beginning of this year, the Philippines proudly sent a significant group of its most prominent players to participate in the prestigious Flesh and Blood Trading Card Game Pro Tour hosted in Los Angeles, California. This marked a significant milestone for the country’s involvement in FaB TCG’s top-tier events. Ludus presented each team member with a commemorative jacket as a token of remembrance, symbolizing the historic moment for Philippine FaB.

Team Rebel Sports created a stylish and comfortable jacket featuring elements of the Philippine flag and colors. Then, during the recent Calling: Manila event in August, members of the Pro Tour Los Angeles contingent received another unique gift – custom Dragon Shield sleeves designed to mirror the Philippine flag to match the jacket, straight from the company itself!

The sleeves are neatly packaged in a sleek black Dragon Shield-branded box containing 100 standard-sized pieces. One notable feature of these sleeves is the absence of the tiny ‘D’ letter usually found at the bottom of other custom sleeve prints (Author’s note: apparently, this is because they are made directly by Dragon Shield and not through their custom print services).

The design is elegantly framed in white, and the back of the sleeve has a matte finish, similar to Dragon Shield’s Dual Matte series. The inside of the sleeve is opaque black, ensuring no transparency issues, while the front is clear and glossy. Overall, the sleeves boast good quality and feel comfortable to handle.

I’ve noticed that the sleeves from Dragon Shield often come out of the box with a slight curve, which straightens out as you use them. It’s a good idea to use outer sleeves with these to protect your cards and preserve the design as much as possible, especially if you’re using them extensively.

I’m impressed with the Team Philippines Dragon Shield card sleeves and feel honored to have them. Here’s to more success for PH in the competitive world of Trading Card Games!
