Goku VS Superman VS Saitama VS Omni-Man – Who Is The Strongest Superhero (According To You)?

    Published on:

Do you know how when we’re kids, we love to debate about who the strongest superhero is? This time, the Poll we are analyzing determines who you thought would win when some of the most formidable superheroes in popular media clash against each other. The contenders are Superman from various adaptations, Goku from the iconic anime series Dragon Ball Z, Saitama from the popular anime One-Punch Man, and Omni-Man from the animated series Invincible.

Almost everyone is considered one of, if not the most powerful, being in their respective worlds – so let’s check out who you thought would win if they all clashed! Here are the results, plus some hypothetical scenarios about how their encounters might play out.

The Strongest Superhero – Saitama (1,100+ votes)

The clear winner is Saitama! Taking more than 53% of the pie, it delights me that a lot of people have seen One-Punch Man (which you should if you haven’t). For those who need a little more convincing or aren’t aware of Caped Baldy over here being the strongest superhero, Saitama is a different take on the trope – while most heroes are burdened with how to improve their powers, get stronger or defeat their enemies, Saitama already starts at the very top and can literally beat almost anyone with one lazy punch – hence the name of the anime/manga series that he comes from. With great power comes great boredom, however, and all Saitama wants to feel is the struggle, uncertainty, and rush of a good battle to make him feel alive as he continues to follow his dream of being a popular superhero in a world that’s full of them.

In terms of abilities, nothing has fazed Saitama so far in all of his battles, and these include literal embodiments of nature, world-conquering aliens, the king of monsters, and even celestially empowered martial arts masters whose attacks transcend time and space, and he barely breaks a sweat beating them, and I think that’s more than enough to convince us that he’ll emerge the winner of our poll.

    How It’ll Play Out:

Saitama will probably see the other three going at it while on his way to the grocery store. The force of all the blows would probably rip the paper bag from his hands, and all of his groceries would spill. He gets annoyed, catches all three, and knocks them out. They kinda resist, though, and he indulges them a bit, thinking that hey – finally, here’s something interesting! He goes at them 3v1. They can’t hit him, and when they do, he just stares at them blankly. All the fighting starts to trouble the town, and Saitama threatens everyone with one of his super serious series of punches to instill the fear of death into the other three and shut them up. They later gather at his house for some hotpot, much to Genos’ annoyance.

The Strongest Superhero – Goku (704 votes)

For a lot of us who grew up in the 90s, Goku will always be one of our favorites, and we will likely think he is the strongest superhero. Just like Superman, he’s an alien from another planet who grew up on Earth and became its protector – a role that would later expand to include the whole universe as well. During his time on Earth, Goku learned martial arts and, combined with his Saiyan lineage to become stronger during battle, attained heights of power that very few beings in Dragon Ball Z could reach. Throughout his years, he has fought everyone from other martial artists to the literal God of Destruction that’s guarding the universe and even beings beyond that, and what makes his battles so inspiring is that we see him train along the way to attain every little bit of power to match them. While the Goku vs Superman debate won’t be settled anytime soon, it’s great to see that most of our readers are on Team Goku.

    How It’ll Play Out:

Goku learns of the three other powerful beings and goes to meet them, hoping to spar. Omni-Man identifies him as another obstacle in his plans (let’s just say this is Season 1 Invincible timeline), but can’t beat him and retreats. Goku meets Superman, and they just kinda talk it out because they’re both good guys and are chill, but still, curiosity gets the better of them, and they start sparring anyway. Goku then meets Saitama (probably at some martial arts tournament), and burns through all of his transformations trying to beat him before finally admitting he can’t. Saitama had a fun time, thinking of Goku’s transformations as difficulty levels, but wasn’t as enthusiastic at the thought of having another disciple when Goku brought up the topic of training with him regularly to get stronger.

The Strongest Superhero – Superman (222 votes)

No superhero’s more iconic than Superman; for many fans and comic readers, he is the strongest superhero. The imagery of red and blue, with the cape and the “S” logo, is something that has transcended media and culture and is one of the most recognizable images in the world. Superman’s strength varies from comic to comic or movie to movie, but true to his name, he’s bound to be exemplary at it, being able to match the strongest, fastest, or most powerful enemies and allies in his multiverse. Just like Goku, Superman’s power has grown throughout the years, which is why the Goku vs Superman debate is so interesting. Both camps have legitimate reasons and proof of why one would win over the other. The one thing that sets Superman apart from the other three, however, is his values. He’s committed to always doing the right thing, a bastion of justice and hope, and is overall just a nice guy. Plus, he only needs a pair of glasses to hide his identity.

    How It’ll Play Out:

Like the bit above with Goku, it’s very likely that their encounter would lead to a friendly spar, stopping only when they realized that ramping up the intensity would destroy whatever planet they’re fighting on. He would have a legitimate reason to fight Omni-Man once he learns of his true nature, and they would be exchanging a lot of blows, though I believe the Man of Steel would also come out on top. I can’t really think of a scenario where he’ll start a fight with Saitama other than a misunderstanding, though I think Superman is actually level-headed enough to ask first and punch later. Still, I doubt he can do anything against Caped Baldy. Saitama would find him interesting and probably be happy that there are actual reliable superheroes like him around, while Superman could probably lure him into the Justice League with the promise that it’ll alleviate Saitama’s boredom.

    The Strongest Superhero – Omni-Man (40 votes)

It seems like poor Nolan might end up facing some serious challenges in the fantasy battle due to being seen as the closest thing to a “villain.” Despite this, I’m happy to see that there are a few others who are on his side. Although I may have depicted Omni-Man in a negative way in the earlier paragraphs, it’s important to mention that the show he’s a part of – “Invincible” is truly one of the most outstanding superhero stories to emerge in recent years. His personal journey and the challenges he faces are perhaps the most compelling among the four characters highlighted today.

In the context of the poll, Omni-Man is likely overpowered and outclassed by the other characters in terms of power level. Within the world of Invincible, Omni-Man is the strongest superhero – matched only by a few other beings. Still, all of his displays of strength could probably be matched or even surpassed by others. However, in terms of character depth and storytelling, I believe Omni-Man outshines the other characters, so fans can find comfort in that.

Also, he’s in a couple of the most legendary memes around.

    How It’ll Play Out:

He faces any of the three, gets his ass kicked, and either finds another planet to dominate or calls for Viltrumite backup; either way, they also get their asses kicked as well. Goku will probably extend an offer to train with them, seeing a glimpse of the similarity between Saiyans and Viltrumites.

The outcome of the poll may be evident, but what really matters is the renewed passion we all share for fantasy battles and the characters we adore. I’ve come across some persuasive and unyielding arguments, and while we may not all see eye to eye, that’s what makes being a devoted fan so beautiful.
