Here are 3 Of Our Favorite Dr. Doom Appearances In Video Games

    Published on:

Dr. Doom is a highly esteemed character in the world of comics and movies. His presence has also been felt in numerous video games, making him a well-known figure across various media. Here are some of the standout gaming appearances featuring Dr. Doom (or possibly one of his Doombots) that are some of our favorites!

Bonus: Dr. Boom – World of Warcraft / Hearthstone

World of Warcraft references the good doctor in Dr. Boom – a goblin who creates his army of Boombots, and is a minor boss in the Netherstorm region. Dr. Boom catapulted in popularity after he was released as a card in Hearthstone, and ended up as one of the most powerful Legendary cards during that time.

    Fortnite

Being his elusive self, you still can’t play as Dr. Doom in Fortnite, but the next best thing you can do is dress up like him via his Marvel Series outfit. Then you can pretend to be one of his Doombots, which strangely fits in Fortnite’s world of fast-paced building and shooting.

    Marvel Snap

Dr. Doom always seems to have a good card game version, and in Marvel Snap, he is generally considered a powerful and versatile 6-cost card. His ability is also very much in-theme, putting a 5-power Doombot in each other location, and this amount of value is something that all other 6-cost cards are measured by.

Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel Vs. Capcom Series

Dr. Doom rose to prominence in the gaming community through his featured roles in Capcom’s Marvel Super Heroes in 1995, the widely acclaimed Marvel vs Capcom 2, and the subsequent installment, Marvel vs Capcom 3. Notably, in Marvel vs Capcom 3, Dr. Doom exhibits remarkable versatility and power. He excels in executing stylish, damaging combos, has one of the best assists in the game in Hidden Missiles, and popularized his trademark move, the FOOTDIVE, into mainstream gaming.

With renewed interest in Dr. Doom, after Robert Downey Jr. was announced to play the character, we’ll undoubtedly see the good doctor in more games within the next few years. Here’s to hoping for more of his memorable appearances.

Now, all Dr. Doom needs is a good marketing campaign, like the one from Deadpool and Wolverine!
