Last Sunday, the second Ultim8 Beatdown Tekken 8 tournament took place at Unbox Greenhills. The event drew in 20 players from across Manila, including the first Ultim8 Beatdown champion, pangako_9, and the fourth-place finisher, 20V Siopao. The participation of renowned Tekken players and personalities from the metro made this tournament particularly exciting, such as Wam from Rumble Royale and Coach / Streamer Pica, adding a new level of competition to the event.

Even during the preliminary rounds, the bracket matches in this Tekken 8 tournament were filled with unexpected outcomes and thrilling clashes. Following almost six hours of riveting tournament play, these four competitors have demonstrated their dominance and emerged as the day’s top performers!

    Top 4 – Schizophrenia69

Schizo has emerged as a standout competitor in the latest wave of Tekken 8 players. What’s particularly intriguing is his character preference – Yoshimitsu is widely acknowledged as one of the most complicated characters in the game. Schizo’s rapid rise marks him as a highly promising talent within the local community.

Top 4 – TFX AAE VB Juker

Juker made a strong comeback as a competitor, achieving a top finish this time around. Throughout most of the tournament, he stuck with his trusted main from Tekken 7 – Leroy. However, what caught everyone by surprise was his use of a pocket Eddy in several matches.

    Second Place – VB Chepler

The reserved Chepler has emerged as one of the top Alisa players in the country, demonstrating his skill with an impressive performance in the tournament’s upper bracket. He only suffered his first real defeat in the Grand Finals reset against 9Tz Yimeiii. Throughout the tournament, he faced a series of intense 2-1 matches, but he showcased his adaptability and emerged victorious.

    Champion – 9Tz Yimeiii

Yimeiii was renowned as one of the standout Tekken players in the country during the earlier years of Tekken 7. His remarkable skills led him to compete in The Nationals League. In Tekken 7, he consistently excelled with his mastery of the character Shaheen, consistently making deep runs in various tournaments. His journey in the Ultim8 Beatdown was particularly challenging, as he was sent back to the lower bracket against Chepler. However, he displayed remarkable resilience, ultimately reaching the Grand Finals. There, he put on an impressive performance, resetting the match 3-1 before securing a decisive 3-0 victory in the subsequent set.

Because of the success of its first two tournaments, Unbox Greenhills is looking to hold more future Ultim8 Beatdowns Tekken 8 tournaments!
