As Unmatched continues to gain popularity worldwide, it’s also catching on with local gaming enthusiasts in the Philippines. Gaming Library is excited to announce the 2024 Unmatched Philippine Nationals, the biggest tournament of the year. Players will have the opportunity to compete for one of the 16 highly sought-after slots at the Nationals. The main event is scheduled for October 20 at the All aBOARD EXPO 2024 at the Shangri-la Mall Grand Atrium, where the top players will battle it out for the prestigious title of Unmatched Nationals Champion.
The champion won’t just walk away with the title – they’ll also receive a range of exciting prizes, including a free flight and accommodation to the Unmatched CMON Asia EXPO Tournament in Thailand. This is a chance to represent the country on an international stage and compete in November alongside other top Unmatched players from across Asia. It’s an opportunity of a lifetime for any Unmatched enthusiast!
Here’s how you qualify for the Unmatched Philippine Nationals:
Unmatched League Qualifier 1 (August 10) and Qualifier 2 (September 7)
The Unmatched League features a distinctive tournament format that emphasizes skill and strategic thinking. Participants have the option to compete in one or both of the two Qualifier Events, with their rankings determined by their game scores. The top 4 players from these events will earn coveted positions in the Unmatched Philippines National finals, scheduled to take place on October 20 at the All aBOARD EXPO 2024.
Format
In the upcoming gaming event, we will be implementing a modified Round Robin format where players will earn points based on the number of wins they secure throughout the league. Each player will engage in 7 battles. The event will take place concurrently at 3 different Gaming Library Stores: Greenbelt 5, AlterEgo, and SM North EDSA.
Prizes
The Acrylic Sidekicks Pack will be awarded to the player at each store with the highest number of wins. Furthermore, every participant will be given Unmatched Foil Cards.
Following Qualifier 2, all competitors from Qualifier 1 and Qualifier 2 will be ranked based on their wins. The top 4 players will earn the title of League Champions and secure their slots at the 2024 Unmatched Philippine Nationals.
They also win additional prizes:
1st Place – Unmatched: Dr. Sattler vs T. Rex
2nd Place – Unmatched: Tales to Amaze
3rd and 4th Place – Loot Prints Match Box for Unmatched Black
All aBOARD Expo 2024 Play-Ins (October 19)
Players who were unable to secure their slots via the Unmatched League Qualifiers can still have one last chance to qualify for the Nationals via the Play-Ins that will be held during the All aBOARD EXPO 2024 on October 19 at the Shangri-La Mall Grand Atrium.
The Play-Ins will feature a Swiss Format preliminaries, where the Top 4 will qualify for the Nationals the following day.
Partner League
In addition to the methods above, 8 players from a Partner League will also earn their spots, though more information about them is not yet available at the time of this writing.
Unmatched Philippine Nationals 2024 (October 20)
Sixteen qualified players from the Unmatched League, the Partner League, and the Play-Ins will compete in an intense single-elimination tournament. The champion of this tournament will have the honor of being crowned the first-ever Unmatched Philippines National Champion. As mentioned above, along with prestigious prizes, the winner will also earn the title of the country’s official representative at the Unmatched CMON Asia EXPO Tournament in Thailand, complete with a round-trip ticket and accommodation provided.
