Yield Guild Games (YGG), a web3 guild protocol, is teaming up with Parallel TCG to bring the award-winning web3 game to the YGG Play Summit (YPS) in Manila, Philippines, for a $100,000 prize pool tournament. The tournament will occur during the week-long YPS event on 19-23 November 2024. Two global online qualifiers will be held to determine the players competing in the tournament. The YPS event will include the first-ever IRL GAM3 Awards ceremony, a cosplay competition, a one-day conference, live demos, and high-octane show matches of popular web3 games.
Both qualifiers will award Parallel League points. The first tournament is scheduled for 12-13 October, followed by another on 26-27 October. Participants will play seven rounds of Swiss in a Best of 3 Conquest format on the first day. The top 8 players who qualify for the second day will compete in a Best-of-3 single-elimination format to earn Parallel League points and secure a spot in the Manila tournament. 16 players from the two 128-player qualifier tournaments will move on to the main event at the YGG Play Summit.
What Is Parallel?
Parallel TCG is a thrilling sci-fi card game where five factions compete to control a future Earth. It’s based on mechanics from popular trading card games and has received multiple awards since 2021. 2024 will have a competitive season with a $500,000 prize pool. Well-known creators from popular card games like Hearthstone and Magic: The Gathering are among Parallel’s ambassadors.
“When YGG approached us for this partnership, we saw an opportunity to bring a unique experience to current players and newcomers,” said Kalos, Co-Founder of Parallel TCG. “We will be able to emulate that feeling of playing with other people in a card shop while also showing them the advantages web3 offers through Parallel TCG. We expect a lot of competitive play in the weeks leading to the YGG Play Summit.”
Parallel TCG has partnered with YGG, a gaming platform known for its campaigns, strong community, and questing features. YGG has a track record of successfully attracting and keeping players for its game partners. During Season 5, its Guild Advancement Program (GAP) questing platform saw a 77% increase in participants.
“TCG players have always been passionate about the games they play, and many look for opportunities to test their skill at a high-stakes competitive level,” said Gabby Dizon, co-founder of YGG. “Parallel is in a very good position to be able to cater to these players, with many of its mechanics inspired by competitive TCGs such as Magic: the Gathering and Hearthstone. With YGG organizing these events, many players can earn their share of the $100,000 prize pool at the YGG Play Summit.”
What Is YGG?
Yield Guild Games (YGG) is a web3 guild protocol that helps players and gaming guilds connect, find games, and grow together. YGG is a network of gaming guilds focused on web3 games, supporting its members to become strong players in games and life.
YGG enables its guild community to organize online, giving guilds access to its infrastructure to expand and receive opportunities based on their specializations. Through YGG’s questing initiatives, such as Superquests and the Guild Advancement Program (GAP), members of YGG can benefit from its achievement-based reputation system and build their online identity.
Starting in the Philippines and expanding to a global network of regional guilds, YGG partners with over 100 web3 games and infrastructure projects, serving a growing community of gamers and blockchain enthusiasts.
YGG also boasts a thriving web3 esports team, whose lineup for Parallel TCG consists of former Hearthstone competitive players such as Tyler, Sequinox, and Chris Tsako. YGG esports captain Disi is one of the top players in Parallel TCG.
YGG’s Head of Esports, Mike Ovecka, previously worked for Blizzard Entertainment and is now spearheading YGG’s competitive efforts in the game. Many YGG community members have also reached the top 100 in the leaderboards and are open to sharing strategies with newer players joining the game.

The YGG community’s Facebook group “Everything Parallel” will organize contests and create content to get people interested in the web3 game. The guild protocol’s YouTube channel will feature educational videos, including deck guides.
