A new series is coming soon, titled “Pop Star Academy: Katseye.” This reality show will follow 20 talented contestants from various countries as they embark on a year-long journey to compete for a position in KATSEYE, a unique global girl group formed using KPOP techniques. With exclusive behind-the-scenes access, the show will span eight episodes, providing an inside look at the rigorous training and development program designed by HYBE and Geffen Records.
“The Debut: Dream Academy” is not just a reality show, but also an audition program and competition that premiered on September 1. The 20 aspiring young women went through three intense singing and dancing missions, all under the scrutiny of industry experts and fan voting. The final members of the group and the official band name were disclosed in the grand finale after the 12-week run, during which the show was streamed on YouTube, Weverse, and Abema TV.
KATSEYE is the name of the international girl group developed by Geffen Records and HYBE following an extensive global talent search that attracted over 120,000 submissions. The 20 chosen contestants were then narrowed down to 10 through “The Debut: Dream Academy,” and finally, the six talented members forming KATSEYE were announced during the live finale event in Los Angeles on November 17.
Pop Star Academy: KATSEYE will provide an in-depth look into the journey of the 20 original contestants as they strive to become part of a unique girl group. The show will offer an exclusive behind-the-scenes peek into the process of creating the group, going beyond what was previously showcased in The Debut: Dream Academy.
This mesmerizing series is set to premiere on August 21, 2024, and will consist of 8 episodes, each approximately 50 minutes long. With a visionary director like Nadia Hallgren at the helm and the backing of production powerhouses HYBE, Interscope Films, and Boardwalk Pictures, this show promises a captivating and in-depth look at the journey to global stardom.
