realme has once again redefined smartphone design with the launch of the realme 14 Pro Series, the world’s first phone featuring cold-sensitive color-changing technology. Introduced at MWC 2025, this latest innovation marks a bold step forward in mobile aesthetics and functionality, blending high-end design with cutting-edge materials.
A Collaboration That Pushes Boundaries
Design has always been a core element of realme’s innovation, and the 14 Pro Series is no exception. This time, realme partnered with Copenhagen-based Valeur Designers, a renowned industrial design studio with over 29 years of experience, including collaborations with premium audio brand Bang & Olufsen (B&O). The result is a smartphone that embodies the principles of Nordic design—minimalist, functional, and deeply connected to nature.
Chase Xu, Vice President and CMO of realme, highlighted the significance of this partnership, stating, “Through our collaboration with Valeur Designers, the 14 Pro Series brings the aesthetics and functionality of realme smartphones to new heights. It perfectly embodies our design philosophy of ‘Authentic and Innovative.’”
The World’s First Cold-sensitive Color-changing Smartphone
At the heart of the realme 14 Pro Series is its standout feature: a cold-sensitive color-changing back cover. Using advanced thermochromic pigments, the device transitions from pearl white to vibrant blue when exposed to temperatures below 16°C, then shifts back as it warms up. This dynamic effect mirrors the mesmerizing transformations found in deep-sea creatures like jellyfish and mollusks.
Beyond its color-changing ability, the 14 Pro Series also introduces a “Unique Pearl Design” for its exclusive Pearl White variant. Inspired by oceanic beauty, this model incorporates organic seashell powder, giving it a shimmering, shell-like texture. Each Pearl White unit features a one-of-a-kind pattern, thanks to an intricate fusion fiber process that involves over 30 steps of craftsmanship. Additionally, realme’s commitment to sustainability shines through, as the fusion fiber material used is 95% eco-friendly and biodegradable.
Sleek Build and Premium Features
The realme 14 Pro Series doesn’t just impress with its design—it also delivers on premium aesthetics and ergonomics. The 14 Pro boasts an ultra-slim profile of 7.55 mm, while the 14 Pro+ remains under 8 mm thick, ensuring a comfortable grip. Alongside the industry’s first triple flash camera system and a seamless quad-curved display, this lineup reinforces realme’s dedication to pushing design and performance boundaries.
Pre-order Details and Launch Date in the Philippines
Filipino consumers won’t have to wait long to experience the realme 14 Pro Series firsthand. realme Philippines has confirmed a local launch date of March 20, 2025. While pricing remains undisclosed, pre-orders are open at realme physical stores nationwide until March 19, 2025.
