The Realme GT6 Checks All The Right Boxes Of A “Gaming Phone” And More

    Published on:

At first glance, the Realme GT6 seemed like something out of an office executive’s pocket – maybe like their second phone or so for specialized business calls. However, we won’t be surprised if it’s actually their gaming phone because, from our experience with it – it pretty much feels like one with a few more upsides.

Core to this experience is the new Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 processor that’s paired with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM – it’s a mouthful, but what this really translates to is that the Realme GT6 can handle pretty much any game you throw at it smoothly.

Gone are the times when you look at Google Play and wonder if your phone can actually handle the titles that you’re interested in. This is great, especially since we live at a time where established games like Genshin Impact, and Mobile Legends kept getting challenged constantly by new titles appearing on the market like Wuthering Waves and Honor of Kings, so it’s great to have a phone that can handle them all.

With all that power at the back, we’re glad they didn’t skimp on battery life either – it’s hard to notice at first, but the extra 500mAh on its 5500mAh comes in clutch when you’re having an intense match or simply in the zone and can’t be bothered to move anywhere.

Is it a first-world problem to be lazy enough sometimes to not reach out for a charger? Sure, but the extra battery life does afford you that luxury – in addition to more practical benefits, of course, like the phone lasting the whole day with moderate use.

If you do need to charge, you’ll be happy to know that the Realme GT6 has a 120w wired charger, so you can take a gaming break (which you should, btw – it helps you perform better in the next match) and come back to see it ready to go again.

The 256 GB UFS 4.0 Storage is par for the course for phones in the GT6’s “flagship killer” range and will likely be enough to store all of the apps, videos, and photos that you have.

Let’s talk about the front end of the phone. All of the Realme GT6’s specs are reflected on a 6.78-inch 120hz curved AMOLED display that boasts the highest peak brightness on a phone at 6000nits. This means you get a full view of all the fast-paced action on a big screen, no matter the lighting condition. Low light won’t be a problem, glare won’t be a problem, and the only problem would be you if you keep choking in your lane. But the gameplay experience is guaranteed to be superb.

In fact, it’s the official phone of one of the best teams in ML right now!

Anyway, let’s talk about what sets it apart from a “gaming phone.” The first is the look – the GT6 is simply pristine and doesn’t lose to the quality and luster of other flagships.

The second is that it has a great camera! Do you need one for gaming? Not really, but don’t blame us if you get fewer likes on your photos or videos with your favorite players, influencers, or booths during the next convention because the quality is crappy. The Realme GT6 has multiple lenses tacked onto it, and none of them are wasteful placeholders – all of them, the 50-megapixel 2x telephoto, the 8-megapixel ultra-wide, and the 32-megapixel selfie shooter, churn out superb quality content.

Is the PHP 34,999 price tag a little steep? Maybe, but considering that it’s a gorgeous, premium all-rounder that does gaming, content, and business equally well without dipping into flagship price territory, it’s a reasonable deal.

They do have an early bird promo if you want to tempt yourself into getting one, which sells for PHP 29,999 – and the Realme GT6 comes with the Buds T300. This promo will be available at Lazada from June 21 to 27 and at Shopee and TikTok Shop from June 28 to July 4.

So, what games do you wanna play on this thing? Well, how about HOK, which is currently #1 on Google Play – read all about it below!
