Where To Play Flesh And Blood TCG In Manila For Every Day Of The Week

The Flesh and Blood TCG local community has grown a lot since the game’s arrival on Philippine shores nearly five years ago. The idea of two Heroes engaged in combat and using all their equipment, abilities, and spells unique to their class to win over the other is a simple but effective hook. It can easily capture the imagination and attention of fantasy fans.

The game is also a welcome respite for those tired of one-sided beatdowns or non-games because of bad RNG (or variance). One of the appeals of FaB TCG is that players always have a play, and most matches often go down the wire as players try to eke out every slight advantage from making good decisions using what they have.

Because of this exciting appeal, new players, and even teams, have been popping up locally, each looking to challenge other Heroes and hone their skill in the game.

The great news is that Manila is one of the hotspots of FaB TCG not just in the country, but in the region as well. It’s entirely possible to join Armories throughout the whole week if you know where to look. Monday

While you shouldn’t typically be looking for FaB games at the start of the workweek, the Neutral Grounds branch at VMall has got you covered if you ever do. It’s a small branch that could only fit about 12 players, but the interesting bit here is that some of the best local players in FaB right now, like Justin Cu, Carlo Ople, and Andre See, have sharpened their skills (and still occasionally do) in this humble shop.

Tuesday

Unbox Greenhills

Unbox Greenhills is at the center of Flesh and Blood TCG’s explosive growth during the past couple of years thanks to the efforts of its owner, Carlo Ople, who fell in love with the game immediately and has been a positive, driving influence ever since. It’s not uncommon for players from other areas to occasionally visit to see how they’ll stack up against some of the country’s best. The one unexpected bit that surprised a lot of first-timers is that despite the quality of the competition present, Unbox Armories are pretty chill, full of laughs, and the players are more than happy to help each other get better.

Wednesday

The middle of the weekday is where your options expand a little, and be warned, the number of places you can play FaB in increases from here.

Kachi is home to not just one of the strongest FaB teams in the country (so be prepared for some strong competition) but also to the best affordable duck rice meal around. It’s common for players to enter and immediately order one with one of their excellent coffees. Just like in VMall, the Neutral Grounds branch at SM Megamall is a small one that can house a small group of players at most. Because of the mall hours, Blitz is often played there, and there are only a few players, making it the perfect place for newer players to practice and learn the game without the pressure of tough competition.

Home to another solid group of Flesh and Blood TCG players, Block 101 is one of the most stylish local game stores around. Winning an Armory and having a photo under their “FINAL BOSS” wall is a memorable experience. They also have a nice selection of toys in addition to their TCG accessories and an online store.

Before the widespread popularity of Kayo, the Dragonforge was popularly known as the local Brute Nation because of the number of players there who played either Rhinar or Levia. Nowadays, they have a healthy mix of players who also play other Classes. The shop is small but stocked to the brim, especially with miniatures, and the experience of setting up tables and playing in the open area of the mall is reminiscent of the old-school, earlier days of hobby stores. GamersShop is locally known for two things: their famous caldereta, which they occasionally serve during tournaments if you’re lucky, and their takusa Armory – which is Filipino slang for husbands who are scared of their wives (so they gotta be back home by lunchtime) which is held on early weekend mornings. Parking can be a bit scarce and tricky (they have a parking lot at the back of the street block – just tell them you’re playing at the shop) if it’s your first time visiting, so it’s advisable just to take a Grab if you can.

Toy Shogun

Toy Shogun is home to one of the best Brute players around, Kevin Pilapil, as well as one of the most respected local Judges (and Iyslander specialist) in the community, Ivan Alba. It’s a little tricky to find since it’s a small, cozy store inside a compound, and finding parking space can be a bit difficult, so it’s recommended to commute, carpool, or take a Grab instead when going there.

TriCs Circle of Hobbies

The Armory at ATC is where the best FaB players of the south gather every weekend – from National Champions like Kevin Bustamante, ProQuest Winners like Ichi and Kevin Octavio, as well as other formidable competitors. The level of competition is quite high, and I’d recommend going here if you’re looking for good practice for the weekend.
