With only three more days before the launch of Black Ops 6, we finally get a full rundown on everyone’s favorite game mode: Zombies! The folks at Treyarch were kind enough to give us the heads up that the details for Zombie mode and everything players could expect this time around are now up on their blog. It’s a lot to talk about, so we’ll only be talking about the key points in this article today. Like always, you can head over to their blog to read the full post here. Without further ado, let’s take a look at what Black Ops 6 Zombies has in store for us!

New Maps

Black Ops 6: Zombie mode throws us into three new maps for this game. We have two maps on launch, Liberty Falls and Terminus Island, and a third map promised to arrive in the game before the end of the year. From what we’ve been told, Liberty Falls and Terminus are going to be round-based Zombie maps, while the third one is still unknown. Liberty Falls is a whole new map set in the once idyllic and scenic town of Liberty Falls, West Virginia. It’s a far cry from the terrors of the Philippine Sea or the cold dark prison Grigory Weaver is trapped. The residents of the once-happy town are either dead, hiding behind barricaded doors, or long gone from the town. By the time you and your crew arrive, it’s already a desolate plane. You get to explore different locations in town, such as Pump and Play, Motor Lodge, Olly’s Comics, Fuller’s Liberty Lanes, Savings and Loan, Holly Falls Church, and “The Alamo.” 

Terminus Island was once home to a CIA Blacksite and other discoverable secrets. Whatever happened on this island is nothing short of horrific, and now you and your crew must find a way to survive this hellish island. The game takes you through the Security overlook and control center, the Living quarters, Storage, and mess hall, the Sea Tower, the Gun battery platform, Sea Caves and Mining tunnels, and the Bio Lab. There’s even an explorable Shipwreck and Outer Island.

Research and Augments

Reaching level 11 unlocks your loadout’s full potential as you are given access to Augments. Researching and unlocking Augments gives a player a choice before the start of a match for each individual Perk, Ammo Mod, or Field Upgrade. To start researching an Augment, simply select which item you’d like to research in the menu and start earning XP in-game to make progress toward unlocking the Augment. Do note these details: 

• Each item has two available Augment slots: one for a Major and one for a Minor Augment.
• Expect three Major Augments to choose from per item. A Major Augment offers a substantial advantage to the behavior of the item, usually during use.
• Expect three Minor Augments to choose from per item. A Minor augmentation offers a limited advantage to the item, usually during use.

If you play a particular role in your squad, try looking for the Augments related to your role.

Pre-Game Menu Intel

Weapon Select: Gunsmith (Global System, Weapons Menu)

Build your optimal zombie-culling armament here, and then share it as a Global Weapon Build across Multiplayer and Call of Duty®: Warzone™ (at Season 01)! If you’ve built a weapon in a different mode (Multiplayer or Warzone), it will appear here along with all Attachments, both functional and cosmetic. You can then easily add it to your Loadout.

Operator Select

The Operators Menu allows you to choose from every Black Ops 6 Operator, though the opposing factions present in Multiplayer (Rogue Black Ops and Crimson One) are not as critically important when facing horrific dimensional breaches. Therefore, expect a single Operator menu with “Dedicated Crew Operators” (Grigori Weaver, Elizabeth Grey, Mackenzie “Mac” Carver, and Maya Aguinaldo) flagged. You are encouraged to play as one of these four characters in Zombies for an enhanced story experience and unique content.
